Are you saying we should aim for growth, rather than that elusive thing called success?

Haha! Yes! Growth is the greatest human success there is, right? In the process of growing, often more tangible kinds of success follow, but not necessarily. But when you look at the lives of the rich and successful, far too many end up miserable, with children who don’t know them and don’t care anymore to know them, some in prison and others with broken families and miserable lives.

That doesn’t mean success = misery. Only that success doesn’t guarantee a great life. Personal growth does, though–if pursued down the right paths in the right way, of course.

Thanks for the comment, Mom! I always love seeing you show up here. Always my biggest fan!

You are right , in order for us to grow we should learn from our failures otherwise we will we never reach success. To fail also means a “new beginning” to start over again , move forward and pursue our dreams..

Isn’t that a wonderful way to look at failure, Sherill? To fall is to discover what makes us fall. And that’s a good thing, right? That’s half of the process of self-development–learn what works and what doesn’t to do more of what does and avoid what knocks us down.

      Thanks for the insight, Sherill!

Sometimes we only learn when we make mistakes or fail at something. Failure makes an impact on us that challenges us to do better next time. Great article!
